Ripple Verrines Set of 4
The Ripple Verrines Set of 4 has been created by Ferm Living for the brand Ferm Living. While the glasses have a design that is pretty simple, the fluting detail elevates the look. It is one that harks back to the 1920s when fluting gained popularity.
Fluting on the Ripple Verrines Set of 4 creates ridges or grooves on a surface. It adds texture as well as a play of light because it will hit the grooves and smooth surfaces differently. For the fine glasses, the effect has been achieved with a mould. Glass is poured into a mould when it is in a liquid state. Using a mouth-blowing pipe, it is blown and expanded to take the shape of the mould including the lines that create the fluting effect. It is then left to dry and solidify and it will do so having taken the desired form. This being a manual process, there are small variations between similar pieces.
Each piece in the Ripple Verrines Set of 4 has a height of 9cm and a diameter of 5.4cm. It has a capacity of 0.14 litres. The glasses are dishwasher safe. They are available in clear and tinted glass. They can be used to cover the carafe in the same collection.
