Doo-Wop Suspension Lamp
The Doo-Wop Suspension Lamp has been created by Louis Poulsen for the brand Louis Poulsen. For this design, the brand collaborated with the Navy Buildings Department for whom the lamp was designed before it was made available to the public. The lamp has a cone-shaped reflector that is surrounded by a double tier of shades. The smaller shade which is at the top faces upwards while the larger one at the bottom is inverted. The two-tier shade either matches the one in the middle or has a contrasting colour which creates a striking contrast. The shades are made of aluminium that is spun by hand as is the suspension cable. The struts are made of stainless steel. The Doo-Wop Suspension Lamp casts soft, diffused light downwards some of which is reflected by the white lacquer on the inside of the reflector in the middle. Light is also cast through an opening in the middle of the inner reflector.
The Doo-Wop Suspension Lamp has a height of 24.5cm and a diameter of 28.3cm. It has a cable that is 300cm long. It is available in all white or with a white reflector with a black surrounding shade. The lamp works with an E27 socket.
