The Shelf 120x200cm was designed by Nisse Strinning for the brand String. Founded in 1949, String is a Swedish company which has had a huge influence on the way we store items around our homes and offices. Created by Nisse and Kajsa Strinning, the brand found fame with modular shelving and cabinets with solid construction and adaptable layouts - exactly what people need when their book collections change or their families grow.
The Shelf 120x200cm is part of the brand's classic shelving range and is one of the larger options available. Measuring 200cm tall and 120cm wide, the Shelf 120x200cm offers plenty of capacity for files and books, records, video games, photos - anything that needs to be stored in an accessible way. Each unit comes with 12 shelves with a depth of 30cm, which have been made from lacquered MDF. Light and robust, these shelves can be removed as needed, making it simple to fashion customised storage setups. The rack itself is made from steel, lending it exceptional strength. But this doesn't make the unit too heavy to move. Every element is lightweight and mobile, one of the great strengths of this hugely influential storage classic.
