Hal Ply Wood Chair
The fascinating Hal Ply Wood Chair was designed by Jasper Morrison for the manufacturer Vitra.
Jasper Morrison was born in 1959 and joined Byranston School before heading to Kingston Polytechnic for a bachelor's degree in Design in 1982. He then put everything beyond doubt about his ambitions by undertaking a master's degree at the Royal College of Art in London. His quest for more knowledge and a burning desire to produce exemplary pieces of furniture earned him an honorary doctorate from Kingston University in 2007. He has since embarked on a mass production of furniture designs while working with Vitra. He has brought on board several of his former students to form a team of engineers who work on a global scale.
The Hal Ply Wood Chair measures 47cm in width, 79.5cm in height, 48.5cm in depth and has a seat height of 44.5cm. Made from wood and aluminium, this chair is designed to last. It comes in a variety of pleasing contemporary colours or finishes, and the chair can complement the Vitra Tube chair Frame Chrome, Vitra Hal Stool Medium and the Vitra Hal Stool High Bar Stool.
