Taraxacum 88 S Suspension
The Taraxacum 88 S Suspension has been created by Achille Castiglioni for the brand Flos. It completely does away with convention with its design and function. Rather than having a bulb or two that is typically concealed by a shade, it makes a multitude of them the focal point.
The unpeered design on the Taraxacum 88 S Suspension has a frame made of 20 triangle-shaped frames made of polished aluminium. 60 transparent Globolux bulbs are attached to the frames which creates bright illumination when the lamp is on. The way the bulbs are arranged forms scalloped outermost layers with a smaller one in the middle. At the top, the cluster of bulbs is suspended to the ceiling with a steel cable and narrow wires that go up into a ceiling rose. It can be dimmed via an external dimmer because it does not have an inbuilt one.
The Taraxacum 88 S Suspension has a diameter of 88cm and a suspension height of 550cm. Its canopy has a diameter of 18cm. It is available in different colours including clear, colourless bulbs. This lamp will make a dramatic statement of style wherever it is mounted which may be in a home or commercial space.
