VL38 LED Floor Lamp
The VL38 LED Floor Lamp was designed by Vilhelm Lauritzen for the brand Louis Poulsen.
Lauritzen was a giant of 20th century Danish architecture and design, having worked on grand and small scales to create modernist masterpieces. His product design work has been experiencing a revival in recent years, reflecting a general love of mid-century Scandinavian aesthetics.
This includes the VL38 LED Floor Lamp "VL" stands for the designer's name , which dates back to the 1930s. Created for Copenhagen's Radiohuset Concert Hall, it has been a key part of the Louis Poulsen collection ever since. The VL38 LED Floor Lamp is a contemporary update of the classic lamp. Made from a blend of brass and aluminium, its white diffuser contrasts beautifully with a golden frame, which rises to a height of 120cm. The diffuser itself measures 25 x 13.5 cm and fits a single 9.6W LED which is fixed inside the luminaire. It trains light directly downwards, offering a soft light source for reading or general relaxation. Moreover, the VL38 LED Floor Lamp can be moved easily via a 400cm cable, a dimmer is included, and a pivot mechanism lets users direct the illumination as desired.
