Eames Fiberglass Side Chair DSR Chromed Base
The Eames Fibreglass Side Chair DSR Chromed Base was designed by Charles and Ray Eames for the manufacturer Vitra. This manufacturer launched in Switzerland as a family-owned business in 1950, and its headquarters are located in Birsfelden near Basel. The US-based design couple, Charles and Ray Eames were involved with Willi Fehlbaum, the founder of the business, from the early 1950s and created a number of influential pieces for the company. The manufacturer's production is primarily based at the modern Vitra campus in Weil am Rhein, Germany, which is also the location for its highly-renowned design museum. The business is now part of the Eczacibasi Group, which has been trading from its Turkish headquarters since the early 1940s.
The Eames Fibreglass Side Chair DSR Chromed Base is available in a number of colours and finishes and has a unique design that is sure to grace any office or home. The comfortable side chair is perfectly contoured to suit the human body and looks as striking today as it did when it was initially conceived by Charles and Ray Eames. The side chair features chrome legs in an Eiffel tower-like construction, and measures 46.5 x 83 x 55 cm.
