This beautiful Eames Fiberglass Side Chair DSW Dark Maple was designed by Charles Ormond Eames Jnr and Bernice Alexandra 'Ray' Eames for the label Vitra.
The married couple are well-known for their modern architecture and unique furniture designs. Vitra is now re-releasing the Eames Fiberglass Side Chair DSW Dark Maple. launched in 1950 this classic fibreglass chair is multifunctional and has a shell that can be combined with different bases.
The contemporary style of the chair, along with the steel 'Eiffel' cross struts, has rubber shock mounts which offer great support. Made from sturdy fibreglass with felt gliders, which are perfect for hard floors, the Eames Fiberglass Side Chair DSW Dark Maple measures 46.5cm in width, 83cm in height with a depth of 55cm. The height of the seat is 43cm and seat depth is 46.5cm. A through-dyed, fibreglass shell has been used along with maple legs with a round steel, basic dark bracing. This is a truly well-designed iconic chair, robust, with a visual lightness. The visible fibres on the seat offer texture, attractive patterns and a randomly reflecting light. This chair can be used on its own, in a pair, or around a dining table.
