Bell Side Table Special Edition
The Bell Side Table Copper Special Edition was created by Sebastian Herkner for the German label ClassiCon.
Classicon takes original furniture and lighting design to produce authentic replicas in limited numbers. The label's philosophy is to create outstanding pieces that will become classics of the future. German-born Sebastian Herkner studied product design before opening his own studio in Offenbach am Main in 2006. His designs have received several prizes including the German Design Award.
The Bell Side Table Copper Special Edition focuses on a contrast between materials, creating a piece that is functional yet has an unusual sculptural presence. The hand-blown glass base is crafted in a wooden mould using a traditional method that produces attractive small bumps in the surface. This adds to the table's unique character. Appearing to float above the base is an elegantly curved bell-shaped top of solid copper. This is inlaid with a layer of crystal glass. The reflective surface of the polished copper makes a pleasing contrast with the smoky glass to create a beautiful side table that enhances living and dining areas. The Bell Side Table Copper Special Edition is 50cm in diameter with a height of 54cm.
