The e15 Jean Barstool ST10 was designed by Stefan Diez for the manufacturer e15.
Established in 1995 and now based in Frankfurt, this company creates pieces defined by a rigorous simplicity of form and an honest, hand-crafted finish. Many of its designs celebrate the possibilities of solid wood. The winner of iF and Red Dot Awards, Stefan Diez has run his own extremely successful studio since 2003. This well-regarded German designer works in a minimalist idiom touched with elements of humour.
Standing 79cm in height and 47cm in width, the e15 Jean Barstool ST10 combines ease with stylish sculptural detail. Its main feature is its distinctive, hat-shaped seat. This consists of three intersecting circles, with a peak at the front and a brim at the rear that supplies lower back support. The central part of the seat is tilted backwards at a rakish angle, making it perfect for relaxed lounging. Meanwhile, lower down a crossbeam provides a place for the sitter to rest their foot while they converse and sip their drink. Available in plywood with a walnut veneer or in solid oak lacquered in bright, holiday-friendly hues, the e15 Jean Barstool ST10 makes a graceful addition to cocktail hour.
