With this lamp, Weisdorf literally turned convention upside down. This novel 1972 lamp is made up of layers of hemispheres. These open up upwards and downwards so the lamp can be configured in different ways. This option for multiple configurations is why it was christened a mult-lite. When all the hemispheres are facing down, they have a brass-coloured ring around them. This contrasts smartly with the glossy metallic shades which come in a selection of colours. With different configurations, the position of the ring is altered as well.
