Cab Mario Bellini Bar Stool 68cm
The Cab Mario Bellini Core Leather Barstool 68cm was created by Mario Bellini for the manufacturer Cassina, a company which has pioneered the use of industrial techniques in the production of luxury furniture since the early 1950s. One of the foremost figures in Italian architecture and design, Mario Bellini has won no less than eight Compasso d'Oro awards as well as the Medaglio d'Oro from the Italian government. During the 1980s he edited the influential design magazine Domus and in 1987 the New York Museum of Modern Art even held a retrospective in his honour. His work as an architect includes high-profile projects for the Louvre in Paris and the National Gallery in Melbourne.
Distinctively elongated, the Cab Mario Bellini Core Leather Barstool 68cm measures 100cm in height and 55cm in width. Made from enamelled stainless steel, the frame is subtly rounded along the edges, with a contrast between the length of the legs and the brevity of the backrest. The sitter's comfort is ensured with a zip-up leather covering which fastens over the back, seat and legs, with saddle-style stitching providing further visual interest. The result is a strikingly stylish piece for moody cocktail bars and domestic breakfast bars alike.
