The S 411 Armchair with Ottoman Leather was designed in-house for the brand Thonet.
Michael Thonet started experimenting with bent wooden slats for furniture production in 19th-century Germany. Since then, his label has been recognised for innovative manufacturing techniques and the pioneering use of tubular steel. This armchair was originally created by the label's design team in 1932, a team that brought together highly-skilled designers, engineers and craftsmen.
The S 411 Armchair with Ottoman Leather looks just as contemporary today as it did in 1932 and perfectly demonstrates that functional and aesthetically-pleasing design can be timeless. The use of the cantilever model for the chair frame delivers exceptional comfort, while using a similar frame shape for the ottoman adds balance to the overall appearance of the design. The frame is crafted from chrome-plated tubular steel and the upholstery is available in a choice of different shades and high-quality Nubuck or Nappa leather. The design of the S 411 Armchair with Ottoman Leather is completed with stained beech, oak, ash or walnut armrests. The armchair measures 63 x 79 x 79 cm with a seat height of 40cm and the ottoman measures 63 x 38 x 51 cm.
