Aswan Stool
The Aswan Stool was designed by Ferdinand Kramer for the brand e15.
Kramer was a major German designer of the early 20th century and one of the major supporters of functionalist design. This meant that Kramer's designs and architecture were all focused on use, and that decorative features were shunned. That's a creed which sits well with e15's mission to simplify familiar forms, which is readily apparent with the streamlined Aswan Stool.
The Aswan Stoolwas named after a city in Egypt, and these origins are echoed by the tanned leather seat and rich brown wooden frame. Standing 47cm tall, the stool measures 45 x 45 cm - so it's a relatively small product, and one that will slip neatly into almost anyone's interior setup. The webbed leather seat is forgiving and comfortable, and ably supported by an oak or walnut frame. In a beautiful touch, the action of UV light will darken and enrich the leather over time - making the Aswan Stool even more beautiful. First created in 1925, this timeless stool has stood the test of time, and looks as compact and elegant as it did when it first appeared.
