Aram Side Table
The Aram Side Table was designed by Sandra Figuerola for Spanish furniture label GAN.
Figuerola studied Fine Arts at the San Carlos Art School in Valencia prior to establishing La Nave design studio in 1984. While La Nave disbanded in 1991, it is renowned as one of the foremost studios in Valencian design of its period. Figuerola set up El Almudin in 2010 with six partners, concentrating on graphic design, corporate identity, textile design and editorial design with both Spanish and international companies. In addition to design, Figuerola is interested in dance, theatre and music.
The Aram Side Table is a stylish, minimalist table constructed in thermo-lacquered iron mesh. Comprising a multitude of thin struts, the table's design brings to mind wire-frame drawings, allowing glimpses of the surrounding area to peek through. With a width of 33cm and a 71cm diameter, the table provides ample space for resting drinks as well as displaying ornaments. At 8.7kg, the table resists sliding and has a sturdy feel in use whilst also being easy to move around the room. Due to its robust coated outer surface, the table is equally at home outside as it is inside the home or workspace.
