Americana Wall Lamp
The Americana Wall Lamp was created by Miguel Milá for the Spanish design label Santa + Cole.
The Barcelona-based label Santa + Cole has been exploring industrial design since 1985 and then using this as a basis for creating domestic lighting, furniture and products. It also reissues the best of 20th-century design. Miguel Milá was a pioneer in Spanish design of the last century, creating pieces that have become iconic classics. Among his prizes are the Spanish National Design and the Good Industrial Design awards.
Miguel Milá created the Americana Wall Lamp in 1963 but it still looks just as contemporary now as it did then, working in any setting from hallways and lounges to bedrooms. It's particularly effective as a bedside lamp and wherever it's placed it creates a warm and cosy atmosphere. The wall plate and arm of the lamp are made from satinised nickel, and the conical lampshade is moulded from white linen. The lamp diffuses light both upwards and downwards, while the arm swivels for extra versatility. The Americana Wall Lamp measures 38 x 25 x 8 cm overall and complements other Americana lighting by Milá, which includes a floor and table lamp.
