Fields Wall Lamp
The Fields Wall Lamp was designed by Vicente Garcia Jimenez for the manufacturer Foscarini. This Italian company has been a pioneer of luxury lighting for over three decades, winning many awards including the prestigious Compasso d'Oro. Born and educated in Valencia, Vicente Garcia Jimenez is based in Udine, Italy, where he works for an international clientele of well-known brands.
The designer's Spanish heritage is a key influence on the Fields Wall Lamp from Foscarini. Inspired by an aeroplane flight from Valencia to Madrid, it evokes in an abstract, geometric form the arid landscape of la Mancha parcelled out into small rectangular fields. Strips of painted aluminium and coloured plexiglass provide a mixture of diffused and refracted light, evoking the warm tones of the sun-baked earth. Measuring 170cm in length and 95cm in height, the lamp is composed of three pieces which are available separately or together. These can be arranged singly, in series or in combination to create a wide variety of lighting options for different wall spaces. Assembled in its complete form, the Fields Wall Lamp makes a striking centrepiece around the home, positioned over fireplaces or the heads of beds.
