The S 64 Cantilever Armchair with Wickerwork was designed by Marcel Breuer and is manufactured by Thonet.
A distinguished Bauhaus and Brutalist designer/architect, Marcel Breuer created many of the 20th century's most influential, award-winning design classics. He ran the Bauhaus carpentry shop in Germany from 1925 to 1928 and began working with metal after moving to Switzerland in 1932. After training in architecture in London and New York, he opened his own design studio in the US.
This S 64 Cantilever Armchair with Wickerwork has an uncompromising design ethos that meshes well with any contemporary or traditional interior. The chair has a tubular steel frame, which combines with Thonet's trademark bentwood techniques for the solid wood and cane seat and backrest. The brand's traditional bentwood technology adds a modern take to Breuer's classic armchair design. The stained beech wood seat and backrest is finished with a Viennese weave cane and plastic upholstery to provide the utmost comfort for all users.
