Haefeli Model 1021 Garden Armchair
The Haefeli Model 1021 Garden Armchair has been created by Max Ernst Haefeli for the brand Embru. The late Swiss architect and industrial designer Haefeli is remembered as one of the most influential proponents of the modernist movement.
With pieces like the Haefeli Model 1021 Garden Armchair,he introduced new forms and new possibilities that were readily embraced. Made for hours of comfortable lounging outdoors, it has a frame made of steel bars. Its wide backrest is made of slats of solid ash wood that are arranged to form a subtle curve. The seat is made of the same slats which are arranged across to form a strong seat. In between the seat are armrests that have a slat of matching wood along the top. The chair's legs which have gliders at the bottom are straight at the front and are angled outwards at the back. Apart from adding subtle aesthetic detail, this makes it possible to stack the chairs for convenient storage.
