LC3 Fauteuil Grand Confort méridienne
The LC3 Méridienne Armchair has been created by Le Corbusier for the brand Cassina. Le Corbusier was one of the most famous architects of the 20th century, but he also worked on smaller-scale furnishings, such as this beautiful armchair. First created in 1929, the LC3 separates frame and seat in classical modernist fashion, and is sure to be a conversation starter wherever it is used.
The LC3 Méridienne Armchair is a corner seat, with one end left open and the other bookended by a chunky armrest. A back cushion runs along the length of the piece, while the base cushion is slightly thicker than the other elements. The upholstered cushions of the LC3 dominate the design, but Le Corbusier also added a robust chrome steel frame underneath, with extra supports around the armrest. The two elements work together in a stunning combination.
The LC3 Méridienne Armchair measures 99cm wide and 73cm deep, while it has a total height of 62m and a seat height of 40cm. The cushions have been upholstered in leather, and both 13x606 graphite scozia and 13x247 white scozia versions are available. The frame is made from pure chrome steel.
