Swell Sunstone Carpet
The Swell Sunstone Carpet has been created by Mae Engelgeer for the brand Moooi Carpets. This carpet has soft, rounded lines that are arranged within straight lines that run along its oval shape. The Swell Sunstone Carpet has imagery that is portrayed so vividly because of the fabric it is printed on. Known as polyamide, it is a synthetic fabric that is made of nylon. It is used for carpets because it makes them very durable. Polyamide is also used for carpets because of how well it takes ink. Images are printed on it digitally using a printer that has computer-controlled inkjets. These drop ink into the fabric at very precise depths so the image comes out exactly as it was illustrated. The printer that is used has a very high resolution. It delivers all the colours and their different shades with rich tones and sharp contrast which elevates the final, brilliant result.
