Florence Knoll Relax Stool
The Florence Knoll Relax Stool has been created by Florence Knoll for the brand Knoll International. A protégé of the late renowned Finnish-American architect and industrial designer Eero Saarinen, Florence made a big contribution to modern design with her radical approach that was a complete departure from the norm. Her work in the 1950s is still appreciated and sought out today. A good example is the Florence Knoll Relax Stool. This versatile piece can be used as a coffee table or ottoman. It has a metallic frame and legs of heavy gauge steel that has been left exposed. The legs have black nylon non-adjustable glides. The metallic frame contrasts strikingly with the top, which is available in different colours. The top is tufted and padded with polyester fibrefill which enhances the comfort and aesthetics. The inner shell is made of solid wood. The re-issued version has been updated with a lower height. It is available with upholstery of top-quality leather or textile upholstery fabric including velvet from the KnollTextiles range.
