Gatto Table Lamp
The Gatto Table Lamp has been created by Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni for the brand Flos. The 1960 lamp has a cocoon design made up of layers. This is the duo's signature style.
The Gatto Table Lamp is a play of shapes. The top of it is a sphere that tapers to form a cylinder-shaped middle. It then broadens out into a smaller sphere with a flat base that steadies the lamp on a surface. The lamp's frame is made of stainless steel wire. It is finished with powdercoating and covered with resin that has a web-like appearance. The resin is sprayed onto the metallic frame. It dries to resemble a thin fabric and adheres closely to the frame to reveal the lamp's distinctive shape. Light is cast through a diffuser that is placed in the frame and covered with the resin covering.
The Gatto Table Lamp is available in two sizes. The smaller one has a height of 31cm and a diameter of 21cm while the larger one has a height of 56cm and a diameter of 35cm. It comes in neutral colours. It works with an E27 socket and its bulb has to be purchased separately.
