Grand Prix™ Chair Natural Veneer
The Grand Prix™ Chair Natural Veneer has been created by Arne Jacobsen for the brand Fritz Hansen. The late Danish designer Jacobsen lives on in pieces he designed that were ahead of his time. He was a big part of the modern furniture movement in his country with designs like the Grand Prix™ Chair Natural Veneer. The chair was launched at the Designers' Spring Exhibition at the Danish Museum of Art & Design in 1957. Later the same year, it was shown at the Triennale in Milan where it received the Grand Prix Award. Made of clear lacquered oat or walnut veneer, this chair is all about clean lines fashioned into a graphic form. It has a backrest that is curved into a wing shape at the top. It tapers downwards and then broadens into a well-sized seat with sides that are slightly upturned. The chair rests on a frame made of powder-coated steel tube legs.
The Grand Prix™ Chair Natural Veneer has a height of 83cm, a width of 48cm and a depth of 51cm. It is stackable, which makes for easy storage. It is ideal for use in homes, commercial spaces like offices and public spaces such as libraries.
