Lady Costanza Suspension Lamp
The Lady Costanza Suspension Lamp was designed by Paolo Rizzatto for the manufacturer Luceplan, an Italian luxury lighting company which has garnered numerous prizes for its groundbreaking products.
One of the original co-founders of Luceplan, Rizzatto is a freelance designer who has worked for many of the top European brands in the field of interior décor. He has won five Compasso d'Oro Awards. His work can be seen in the collections of prestigious institutions such as New York's Museum of Modern Art and the Victoria and Albert Museum.
Originally created in 1986, the Lady Costanza Suspension lamp is one of the company's most successful products, used in prestigious hotels, restaurants, offices, spas and flagships stores. Measuring 220 cm in height by 50 cm in width, it turns the basic lampshade into a work of art by upscaling its size. Aside from its imposing dimensions, the main features of the piece are a diffuser made of polycarbonate silkscreened in a choice of cheery monochromes, and a chromed metal counterweight which allows the height of the lamp to be adjusted with the touch of a hand. Simple yet chic, it is ideal for illuminating dining tables and seating areas.
