The LulàJar Box for Dog Food was created by Miriam Mirri for the design label Alessi.
For nearly a century, Alessi has been one of the leading names in Italian design, internationally recognised for its fusion of art with industry and the use of materials such as glass, porcelain and metal. These are worked with a blend of traditional skills and modern technology. Italian-born Miriam Mirri studied design and communication in Italy and London and today works on the design of home and pet accessories as well as watches and furniture. Her work is widely exhibited and she has won the Fritz Henkel Award for Innovation.
The LulàJar Box for Dog Food is a totally practical design with a quirky and visual appeal, it can be viewed as a modern interpretation of 20th-century pop art. The cylindrical container is crafted from glass and finished with a coloured lid of thermoplastic resin. This is topped with a small sitting dog who sniffs the air in anticipation of his next meal or treat. The LulàJar Box for Dog Food has a capacity of 1.5 litres and a height of 27cm.
