Luxembourg Garden Armchair
The Luxembourg Garden Armchair has been created by Frédéric Sofia for the brand Fermob. It is part of a collection that was initially made for the Luxembourg Gardens in Paris which is the reason behind the name. When it went into mass production, it went on to become a representation of French design.
The Luxembourg Garden Armchair is made of lightweight and long-lasting aluminium. The metal is treated with a protective coat that makes them weatherproof including against UV rays that would cause it to rust. The chair has a wide, standard-height backrest that has two straight bars at the top. The well-sized seat has the same pattern. However, the bars are slightly dipped in the middle which makes for more comfortable seating. Curved armrests enhance the chair's comfort. The shell is supported by tubular bars. Straight front legs and curved ones at the back are another subtle decorative detail. It also serves the function of making it possible to stack the chair. A maximum of eight can be stacked.
The Luxembourg Garden Armchair has a width of 52cm, a height of 88cm and a depth of 57cm. Its seat height is 49cm. It comes in a broad range of colours. Matching seat pads are available for purchase separately.
