MR 515 Side Table
The MR 515 Side Table was designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe for the brand Thonet.
Since its launch in Germany in the late 19th century, Thonet has been a pioneer in the use of industrial processes in furniture production as well as in the use of tubular steel. Ludwig Mies van der Rohe was influential in the early days of the Modernism and Bauhaus movements. His work is now exhibited around the world in museums such as MoMA. It is also being reproduced in a contemporary form.
With its reproduction of the MR 515 Side Table the label is revisiting a versatile classic that was originally marketed in the late 1920s. The tubular legs with their curved shape and central crossing are elegantly simple while the circular tabletop is made of glass. Together they create a side table that fits effortlessly into domestic living rooms and hallways as well as into offices and public spaces. The legs are made from chrome-plated steel while the tabletop is clear glass. The MR 515 Side Table is 60cm in height and has a diameter of 70cm.
