Tobia LED Floor Lamp
The Tobia LED Floor Lamp has been created by Ferruccio Laviani for the brand Foscarini. Elegantly simple, this ultra-slim floor lamp is a fine example of contemporary Italian design. Expressive but restrained, it will be the ideal addition to living rooms and bedrooms. Wherever a powerful upward-facing light is needed, Tobia will deliver.
The form of the Tobia LED Floor Lamp partially resembles a trumpet which has been stretched lengthways. This impression is created by a 'knot' in the liquid varnished aluminium spine, which functions as a handle. It also contains a touch dimmer with four separate settings to control the powerful bulb located at the top of the column. This bulb placement allows light to be cast directly up and around the nearby space.
The spine of the Tobia LED Floor Lamp raises the height to 175cm, while the three legged base measures 25cm across. A 160cm long cable is attached to enable flexible movement, and the minimalist design keeps it light enough to carry the lamp easily. As the designer suggests, Tobia is a 'nomadic' lamp which can be highly mobile. The lamp has a built-in light source which cannot be replaced.
